Training Workshop held for Gender Champions and Committee Members
The National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), the National Teaching Council (NTC), and the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) with support from the T-TEL Programme has organised a 2-day Training Workshop for Gender Champions and Committee members from nineteen (19) Colleges of Education (CoEs) at the Capital View Hotel in Koforidua on 28th and 29th March, 2018.
The purpose of this workshop was to provide Gender Champions with the relevant knowledge, skills and values that allow them to contribute to the effective implementation of the gender-mainstreaming strategy within Colleges of Education, during teaching practice and in their communities.
A National Gender Policy for CoEs that is underpinned by the Gender Responsive Scorecard in order to ensure a robust and comprehensive approach to gender responsiveness will be introduced to participants in a review session.
The Gender Champions will be responsible for overseeing the dissemination, implementation and monitoring of the Policy and Scorecard within their Colleges of Education.
