The Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) Programme in Ghana has held a 3-day staff planning meeting to agree upon practical actions to improve collaborative working and strengthen team work.

The meeting also sought help the T-TEL team understand the implications of a National Strategy on Teacher Education Reforms for each of T-TEL’s work streams in 2018 and develop an action plan which is aligned with the Roadmap.

T-TEL’s staff and Key advisers attended the planning meeting which took place at the Elmina Beach Resort in the Central Region from 10th -12th January, 2018.

Chief Technical Adviser for T-TEL, Akwasi Addae-Boahene facilitated a number of exercises aimed at agreeing upon values and behaviours for T-TEL moving forward and how these values will be enacted.

Team Leader for T-TEL, Robin Todd told staff that the direction of the programme at present requires a “Business Unusual” approach and challenged the team to visibly demonstrate a commitment to get things done.

The Ministry of Education intends to achieve system change in teacher education and eventually in education at the basic and secondary levels to ensure best opportunities for Ghana’s children and for the future and prosperity of our country.

T-TEL has a key role to play in supporting the Ministry of Education to achieve the objectives of the reform by contributing to the design of a 4-year teacher education curriculum for implementation in Colleges of Education.
